About
Texas State is proud to be recognized as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) which reached its eligibility in 2010 and achieved the HSI status in 2011. In order to achieve this designation, enrollment of undergraduate full-time students is at least 25% Hispanic/Latinx and not less than 50% of students who demonstrate financial need.
Currently, Hispanic/Latinx students represent 39.7% of the student body population and positively contribute to our deliberately diverse campus through scholarship and service.
With the increasing number of Hispanic/Latinx students entering post-secondary education, HSI Initiatives is committed to providing support to these students and every student enrolled at Texas State University.

HSI Community Council
The Council serves as Texas State’s advisory board for HSI initiatives
