Grants and Awards

The HSI designation enables us to compete for federal funding that increases our capacity to strengthen programs, enhance research infrastructure and capacity, and support our students.  Since receiving the designation we have received 44 external grants & funding awards totaling over 58.7 million dollars in HSI/MSI targeted programs from the U.S. Department of Education, National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Aeronautics & Space Administration, Department of Defense, National Endowment for the Humanities, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. Department of Transportation.
